Capt. Clifton "Cliff" McClung

Capt. Cliff McClung commissioned May of 2008 as an Infantry Lieutenant from North Georgia College, GA with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and leadership minor.

Capt McClung attended BOLC II, IBOLC, Airborne School, M2A3 Mechanized Leader’s at Ft. Benning, GA. Served as a mechanized infantry platoon leader and battalion S6 OIC 1-30th Infantry and 1-64th Armor battalions, 2nd Armor Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division in Hinesville, GA with deployment to Kirkuk, Iraq from 2009-2010. 

He attended the Electronic Warfare Officer Qualification Course at Ft. Sill, OK in 2012 and Maneuver Captain’s Career Course at Ft. Benning, GA in 2013.

Cliff was the Brigade Electronic Warfare Officer in both 1st and 3rd Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA for nearly three years. His unit trained through multiple rotations at the National Training Center, CA for training and guest Observer/Coach-Trainer. He is the Brigade Chief of Plans, as well as lead cyber and military deception planner for the brigade.

Capt. McClung has served the directed energy research scientist since May of 2016 at the Army Cyber Institute.
